Summer Alpine Ice Climbing
Alpine Ice extends our season year round, when winter ends its time to get out on the big ice lines of the high mountains.
In the winter, cold temperatures, difficulty of access and avalanche hazard make many of these routes unattainable. For the rest of the year they come into their own. These routes are generally longer and more remote than winter ice climbs, and often go right to the summit. The type of climbing utilizes your waterfall ice skills and more. Additional challenges may include; glacier travel, rock climbing sections(keep your crampons on and let the sparks fly), multiday ascents, and access to remote locations.
You run the whole gauntlet of climbing mediums(rock, ice, snow, mixed), that’s what makes it so awesome.
- Canada has an amazing variety of alpine ice lines.
- Two prime locations are the Rockies and The Coast Mountains.
- The season runs from early May to October.
- We also travel to Europe and South America for big mountain ice lines, contact us for details.
