Top Tip
When searching for a guiding service, be sure to communicate directly with your guide, and research their background. Guiding is a broad industry and its members have different strengths. Ours is ice guiding.
We know how we measure up.
If you desire top notch guides from the cutting edge ice guiding service, choose us to give you the best trip ever.
Extreme Climbs
Defined as Mulitpitch Grade 6 routes, mulitpitch modern
mixed routes, or routes with significant objective hazard. You will
need to demonstrate the ability and experience required to your guide. These
climbs are only guided at a one to one ratio and are subject to an additional
surcharge(often $200+).
Examples of extreme climbs: Acid Howl, Nemesis, French Reality. Upper Weeping Wall. Hydrophobia. Stairway to Heaven. Mixed Monster.
Additional Expenses May Include:
Transportation.
You may provide your own vehicle, or you may hire the guides vehicle for 60.00cdn (gas included). Your guide will meet you at your accommodations each morning.
Food:
Can be provided on request or you can pack your own. 25.00cdn fee for a packed lunch and drinks. Your guide will have his own food.
Accommodations and travel expenses:
If you and your guide decide to travel on overnight trips into the further reaches of the Rockies or beyond you will be required to cover all trip expenses for both yourself and the guide. While in the Canmore area the guide covers his own costs of course.
Travel Insurance:
When visiting Canada from a foreign country it is mandatory that you have adequate medical and travel insurance while climbing with Rockies Ice Specialists.
Gratuities:
Not at all mandatory, we are appreciative of your business at the set rates and will always go the extra mile for our clients. However, if you feel a gratuity is warranted it is welcome. In fact, it will probably make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to tip your guide.
